Students and teachers alike feel the stress of finals week approaching as the school year comes to an end.

As the semester ends and final exams loom around the corner, students and teachers prepare themselves for what some call the most stressful week of the semester.

“I hate finals week.  It’s taking all the stress you’ve had over the semester and combining it together,” says Pharmacy student Camille Edlen.

For students, the week is full of studying and mental preparation.  Once the finals are taken and the stress ends for students, the hassle of grading begins for teachers.  The week is a short period filled with lots of responsibility, for all that are involved.  Teachers feel the heat too as they deal with creating the finals and grading deadlines.

Journalism professor Kathleen Wickham says, “Finals week is definitely more stressful for students.  Finals grades can determine if someone passes or fails a class.”
